The local structure of SrFe12O19 nanoparticles was investigated by a combined synchrotron pair distribution function (PDF), Raman and 57Fe-Mössbauer spectroscopic analysis. The PDF and 57Fe-Mössbauer spectroscopy results indicate that SrFe12O19 nanoparticles exist in an M-type hexagonal phase (∼10 nm), with a dynamically disordered trigonal bipyramidal Fe(2) site (2b). We determine that at 300 K, the timescale dynamics of Fe3+ ions near the 2b positions are between 10−15 and 10− s. The Raman spectra ...

We investigate the Sr2+-doping influence on the structural, chemical, and magnetic properties of LaCrO3 prepared by a modified combustion method. X-ray diffraction (XRD) results indicate that samples crystallized in an orthorhombic structure, which were stable in heat treatments lower 1073 K. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) results showed a tendency to favor the oxidize of Cr3+ forming more Cr4+ and Cr6+ ions for the La0.9Sr0.1CrO3. The magnetic measurements reveal that the Sr2+-doping does ...

It was developed a green microwave-assisted extraction method for determination of triazine herbicides in soil samples. The extraction strategy was based on micellar medium associated to microwaves followed by the herbicides determination by HPLC in such way that the procedure could be considered as green. Two portions (10 and 8 mL) of aqueous SDS (sodium dodecyl sulphate) 0.06% (m/v) were used as extracting solutions associated to 0.500 g of sample and the following microwave oven program: 540 W (6 ...

Fire is a significant agent of landscape transformation on Earth, and a dynamic and ephemeral process that is challenging to map. Difficulties include the seasonality of native vegetation in areas affected by fire, the high levels of spectral heterogeneity due to the spatial and temporal variability of the burned areas, distinct persistence of the fire signal, increase in cloud and smoke cover surrounding burned areas, and difficulty in detecting understory fire signals. To produce a large-scale ...

The water gas shift reaction (WGSR) is an important step in the commercial prodution of high pure hydrogen for several applications. In order to find alternative catalysts to this reaction, the effect of cobalt on the activity of iron-based catalysts was studied in this work. It was found that cobalt changed the properties of iron oxide depending on its content. In small amounts (Co/Fe(molar)= 0.05), it did not affect significantly the specific surface area but decreased the catalytic activity, a ...

Abstract Pediatric patients, especially those admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit (ICU), are highly vulnerable to medication errors. This study aimed to measure the prescription error rate in a university hospital neonatal ICU and to identify susceptible patients, types of errors, and the medicines involved. The variables related to medicines prescribed were compared to the Neofax prescription protocol. The study enrolled 150 newborns and analyzed 489 prescription order forms, with 1,491 ...

We have investigated the influence of heat treatment and Sr-doping on the structural and magnetic properties of the LaCr0.5Mn0.5O3 compound produced by the modified combustion method using urea as fuel. It was shown that the undoped sample can be produced with heat treatment at a temperature as low as 300 °C. However, the addition of 10% Sr makes it difficult to be obtained at low temperatures, and hence, the desired phase was reached with a heat treatment above 800 °C. Moreover, the Sr-doping induced ...

OBJECTIVE Dural arteriovenous fistulas (DAVFs) are abnormal, acquired arteriovenous connections within the dural leaflets. Their associated symptoms may be mild or severe and are related to the patient’s venous anatomy. With the hypothesis that the patient’s venous anatomy determines the development of symptoms, the authors aimed to identify which venous anatomy elements are important in the development of major symptoms in patients with a DAVF. METHODS A multicenter study was performed based on ...

Abstract Background The release of neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) is associated with inflammation, coagulopathy, and organ damage found in severe cases of COVID-19. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying the release of NETs in COVID-19 remain unclear. Objectives We aim to investigate the role of the Gasdermin-D (GSDMD) pathway on NETs release and the development of organ damage during COVID-19. Methods We performed a single-cell transcriptome analysis in public data of bronchoalveolar ...

XRD, SAED, and FTIR analyses confirmed the formation of single-phase ZnO nanoparticles. TEM analysis showed nanoparticles with strong polycrystalline nature and average particle size ranging from 14.1 to 16.5 nm, with the smaller particle size (ZnO#10) exhibiting a larger surface area.
