The inhibition vigor of natural lettuce oil against corrosion of mild steel (MSt) 1.0 M H2SO4 solutions was investigated using chemical, electrochemical, and computational studies. The anti-corrosion efficacy (%AE) increases with the increase in the amount of doses of lettuce oil and reaches 95.83% from the galvanostatic polarization. The anti-corrosion process was demonstrated by the adsorption of lettuce oil onto the surface of MSt. The adsorption is spontaneous due to the negative signs of free ...

The use of insects as a feasible and useful natural product resource is a novel and promising option in alternative medicine. Several components from insects and their larvae have been found to inhibit molecular pathways in different stages of cancer. This study aimed to analyze the effect of aqueous and alcoholic extracts of Vespa orientalis larvae on breast cancer MCF7 cells and investigate the underlying mechanisms. Our results showed that individual treatment with 5% aqueous or alcoholic larval ...

Despite the advancement in the fields of medical science and molecular biology, cancer is still the leading cause of death worldwide. Chemotherapy is a choice for treatment; however, the acquisition of chemoresistance is a major impediment for cancer management. Many mechanisms have been postulated regarding the acquisition of chemo-resistance in breast cancer and the impact on cellular signalling and the induction of apoptosis in tumour cells. The mechanism of the apoptotic mutation ofp53 and bcl- ...

Pneumothorax is an emergency that must be addressed immediately. It is divided into secondary pneumothorax and primary pneumothorax. A secondary pneumothorax occurs because of the presence of an existing lung illness but primary pneumothorax occurs without any evidence that the patient is suffering from any significant lung disease and it also occurs without any apparent cause. The spontaneous type occurs without an apparent cause in healthy people. The Medline, Pubmed, Embase, NCBI, and Co

Single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) technology enables the precise analysis of individual cell transcripts with high sensitivity and throughput. When integrated with multiomics technologies, scRNA-seq significantly enhances the understanding of cellular diversity, particularly within the tumor microenvironment. Similarly, single-cell DNA sequencing has emerged as a powerful tool in cancer research, offering unparalleled insights into the genetic heterogeneity and evolution of tumors. In the context ...

This article reviews conductive fabrics made with the conductive polymer poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS), their fabrication techniques, and their applications. PEDOT:PSS has attracted interest in smart textile technology due to its relatively high electrical conductivity, water dispersibility, ease of manufacturing, environmental stability, and commercial availability. Several methods apply PEDOT:PSS to textiles. They include polymerization of the monomer, coating, ...

Evidence-based preventive care guidelines offer a systematic approach to early detection, prompt intervention, and the promotion of health, encompassing various aspects of physical, mental, and developmental well-being. Recently, more focus has been placed on improving guidelines for preventive interventions for pediatric populations. Primary care is considered a great venue for implementing these preventive interventions. In addition, primary care is the preferable place for parents to do such ...

The Gulf Cooperation Council Center for Infection Control (GCC-IC) has moved forward over the past several years on the antimicrobial resistance (AMR) agenda. Many of the GCC countries have now developed a national plan to combat AMR and have engaged the leadership of the involved sectors in the discussion on how to mitigate this threat. During the first meeting for the GCC-IC center on AMR, which took place early 2015, the roadmap for combating AMR was developed [1] and since then much more has been ...
