Background. Increasing divorce rates is a major problem in Saudi society. Divorce has become the primary solution for many couples who are experiencing problems in their relationships, and the language of divorce has become prevalent in both the daily register of Saudi courts on a daily basis and in fictional works. This trend has become a threat to marital life and is particularly damaging for children and young people. There has been previous research on the increase in divorce rates; however, ...

The aim of this study was to evaluate the antimicrobial effect of 10% water extraction of Salvadora persica (Miswak) when used clinically as an endodontic irrigant. Twenty four uniradicular teeth with necrotic pulps were chosen. The patients were divided randomly into 2 groups: Experimental group, in which water extract of Salvadora persica (10%) was used as a root canal irrigant; and control group, in which distilled water was used as a root canal irrigant. Bacteriological samples were obtained from ...

Information Communication Technologies (ICT) has experienced remarkable development and changes provoked by the spread of digitization and the rise of electronic technologies. Those changes made it urgent to understand academics' perceptions and professional usage of those technologies in higher education. To understand the academics' perception of digital technologies in higher education we have conducted this study in Al-Hussein Bin Talal University (AHU) as an example of academics' digital competencies, ...

Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a common condition that can lead to significant morbidity. Laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR) is a distinct clinical entity that can occur simultaneously with GERD, necessitating additional treatment measures. The degree of overlap and clinical predictors of LPR among patients with GERD remains unknown. We aim to measure the prevalence of LPR in patients with GERD and identify clinical predictors. We performed a cross-sectional study involving patients with confirmed ...

In this study, we suggest that manager envy will moderate the relationship between perceived overqualification and job-related outcomes (employee turnover, job satisfaction, and performance evaluation). We examined our hypotheses using a sample of 322 employees working in five-star hotels in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), gathered across five time periods. Web-based questionnaires were utilized to collect the data due to the COVID-19 pandemic and in order to obtain results more quickly. We gathered ...

Desmoid tumors (fibromatosis) are rare benign tumors, they arise from musculoaponeurotic structures throughout the body. They are locally infiltrative, resulting in a high rate of local recurrence following surgical resection. Due to the rarity of these tumors in the head and neck region, we report a case of a patient with a desmoid tumor in the upper neck that was diagnosed and treated in our institution, to increase the awareness of the Otolaryngology-Head and Neck surgeons, and report available ...

The manuscript introduces a detection solution of compounds lacking chromophoric properties (e.g. azelaic acid) by implementing a HPLC-UV analysis with on-column derivatisation of the analyte. Azelaic acid was used to test the feasibility of the method at λmax = 265 nm. Its chromatographic analysis shows linear (R = 0.999), precise (RSD < 2.0%) and accurate (97.0 - 103.5 %) behavior. Furthermore, the method was found selective for azelaic acid in a prepared cream which contains other ingredients such as triethanolamine, ...

Recent studies for nanofluids, did not pay enough attention to the effect of the nanoparticle size and nanofluid stability on the heat transfer rate. In this study, the thermal conductivity (TC) coefficient of silica/deionized water (DW) nanofluid with various sizes of nanoparticles and various rates of nanofluid stability was investigated. Validation experiments, including X-Ray diffraction analysis (XRD), FE-Scanning Electron Microscopy (FE-SEM), Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), and Zeta Potential (Zp), ...

Background Dacrocystorhinostomy (DCR) is an operation used to treat nasolacrimal duct obstruction. Essentially there are two approaches: external and endoscopic. Several modalities are used in endoscopic DCR; all aiming to improve success rate, reduce complications, and shorten operative time. Both kerrison punch and drill are widely used in endoscopic DCR with non-conclusive knowledge about differences in operative details as well as on the outcome. The aim of this study is to compare between powered ( ...

With the continuously expanding terrible pandemic of COVID-19 infection, globally increasing numbers of COVID-19 patients and contacts progressively jump to heavy burdens beyond capabilities. Developing and poor countries may face humanity disasters in the next few days unless urgent measures are rapidly performed. Keloids are fibrous lesions formed at the site of trauma due to types I and III collagen irregular production. The presence of thymidylate synthase (TS) is a must for DNA synthesis and repairs causing cell death. 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) is a fluorinated pyrimidine analogue acting as an anti-metabolic agent that inhibits thymidylate synthase and interferes with ribo-nucleic acid (RNA) synthesis.we aimed to evaluate the level of thymidylate synthase in post burn keloid patients before and after intralesional ...

Computed tomography (CT) is used to evaluate the human tracheobronchial tree because of its unsurpassed ability to visualize the airway and surrounding structures. To establish an ideal animal model for studying subglottic stenosis, we assessed the size and morphology of the normal rabbit's laryngotracheal airway by helical CT. We measured luminal dimensions at the levels of the arytenoid and cricoid cartilages and the first, third, and eighth tracheal rings. At all levels, the axial slices were ...
