Four new records of Anastrepha species, A. elongata Fernández, 1953, A. fraterculus (Wiedemann, 1830) (sensu lato), A. pseudanomala Norrbom, 2002, and A. sodalis Stone, 1942, are discussed. Anastrepha elongata is recorded for the first time in Brazil. All species were collected in McPhail traps in an urban forest fragment on the campus of the Federal University of Amazonas, city of Manaus, state of Amazonas.

The fungal specimens were obtained from natural foam, found on the surface of streams in the “Reserva Ducke” (municipality of Manaus) and the “Balneário Marupiara” (municipality of Presidente Figueiredo) in Amazonas state, Brazil. The foam samples were transferred to slides and completely evaporated at room temperature. Lactic acid was added to the slides and covered using a glass cover slip and sealed with nail polish. A new genus and species of Opilioacaridae, Brasilacarus cocaris n. gen., n. sp., is described from adult females and males from Manaus, Brazil. Brief descriptions of damaged tritonymphs and deutonymphs are also provided. The new genus appears to be related to Caribeacarus but possess a unique group of additional strongly modified setae on the tibiotarsus.
