The ovarian cycle was studied in Ameca splendens, a viviparous fish native to western Mexico. Two wild populations living in environments with differential conditions (a small pond adjacent to a reservoir and a spring) were examined to determine whether the conditions these populations are exposed to can elicit differences in the reproductive cycle. The two sites differ from each other with respect to several environmental factors: the spring has clear, oxygen-rich water while the pond has higher ...

ABSTRACT Chemical analyses of Recent sediments from Banderas Bay, Mexico, show that the non-exchangeable Mg content of the clay fraction is higher, and the Fe content is lower, in sediments from strongly reducing environments than in similar sediments from less reducing environments. Clay mineralogy (52% montmorillonite, 28% kaolinite, 20% illite) does not vary significantly among the different environments. The total cation-exchange capacity of the clays does not differ in the different environments ...

A morphological comparative analysis was performed among different populations of the cyprinid Algansea tincella Valenciennes, 1844 from the Lerma-Chapala and Ameca River basins in central Mexico. A new species, Algansea amecae n. sp. is described from individuals collected from small tributary in the headwaters of the Ameca basin. The new species differs from Lerma-Chapala populations of A. tincella by having a lower number of transversal scales, a lower number of infraorbital pores, a prominent ...

ABSTRACT We surveyed the fish fauna of the upper Ameca River basin, a watercourse of the Pacific slope of western Mexico. Many endemic species and the dominance of goodeid species characterize the basin. We sampled 17 sites during the dry and rainy seasons in 1996 and 1997. The basin has a historic record of 20 native and six exotic species, most of which were described or encountered in the last decade. We found a dramatic reduction in fish diversity; currently the upper portion of the basin holds ...

In this article an experimental system of sensor network for monitoring physical variables applied to green technology in conjunction with internet of things (IoT) is presented. This, in a controlled ambient, that can guarantee the development and growth of the plants (exemplary/specimen). This application is focused on agriculture. Using Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) has a promising future due to current technical advances and its almost unlimited applications. This work propose WSN topologies, the ...
