Upper Devonian marine deposits of the Baruunhuurai Terrane in western Mongolia represent island arc settings, which yielded a diverse conodont assemblage of 30 taxa, including species of Ancyrognathus (as well as one new species), Icriodus, Mehlina, Polygnathus and Palmatolepis. Abstract A Lower and basal Middle varcus Zone (Givetian, Middle Devonian) vertebrate association consisting of chondrichtyan teeth and scales of the genus Phoebodus is documented for the first time from the Aragonian Pyrenees of Spain. This record suggests that different teeth morphologies that were previously treated as separate taxa could be grouped in Phoebodus fastigatus. Moreover, the teeth and scales association is in agreement with the previously reconstructed squamation pattern of this taxon.

Foi realizado no Parque Nacional do Jaú (1999) estudo transversal, onde avaliou-se o estado nutricional de 49 pré-escolares e 130 escolares, adotando-se os critérios propostos pela OMS (1986). Segundo estes critérios, 23,9% dos pré-escolares e 9,4% dos escolares apresentavam inadequação no indicador "altura/idade" (desnutrição crônica). A inadequação no indicador "peso/altura" (desnutrição aguda) foi constatada em apenas 2,2% dos pré-escolares e 1,6% dos escolares. Estes resultados evidenciam as precárias ...
