The target of rapamycin (TOR) signaling regulates the nucleocytoplasmic shuttling of transcription factors in yeast. Whether the mammalian counterpart of TOR (mTOR) also regulates nucleocytoplasmic shuttling is not known. White metal alloys, known as Babbitt, are used for sliding in hydrodynamic bearings. The main objective of this study is to evaluate and compare the microstructure and mechanical and tribological properties of ASTM B23/2 alloy deposited by Arc Spray Process and Flame Spray, with coatings deposited by centrifugal and conventional casting processes.
