The aim of this study was to model, based on the overall distribution of extreme values, the probability of occurrence of a particular level of annual maximum daily rainfall in three Brazilian regions (Midwest, Southeast and South) and study their behavior over the past 71 years. The effect of leaf and panicle blast ( Pyricularia oryzae Cav.) on dry matter production, plant height, 1,000 grain weight, percentage of unfilled grains, panicle weight and grain yield were compared in five early and nine medium duration cultivars under upland conditions. The rostral ventrolateral medulla (RVLM) contains neurons involved in tonic and reflex control of arterial pressure. We describe the effects of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) and anesthetics injected into the RVLM of conscious and urethane (1.2 g/kg, iv) anesthetized Wistar rats (300-350 g).
