Abstract The addition of metallic Ir and Pt to a fullerene‐forming, atmospheric‐pressure plasma reactor was found to influence the generation of carbonaceous products. It was observed that the added metals were efficiently dispersed into the plasma and that their presence increased the yield of fullerenes. The addition of Ir led to a noticeable shift in the fullerene distribution towards C60, whereas the addition of Pt increased the proportion of C60 oxides and decreased the proportion of higher ...

Abstract The paper is devoted to the monetary circulation of Borysthenes, which was founded in the lower reaches of the rivers Hypanis and Borysthenes, and was one of the earliest Milesian colonies in the northern Black Sea area. In the second half of the 6th century BC, its monetary production consisted of cast bronze coins in the shape of small 'arrowheads' and large trapezoid segments with relief images of an arrowhead and a head of tuna fish on the both sides. If 'arrowhead' money was widespread ...

This article is an attempt to explain the reasons for the restoration of Soviet symbols in those regions of Ukraine that have come under Russian control as a result of the current conflict, using the concepts of 'crisis of representation' and 'grassroots patriotism.'It stresses that what is happening cannot be explained as "the restoration of Soviet totalitarianism" with support from the Russian authorities, who take a different position towards the Soviet past.It is also shown that the appeal to Soviet ...

The polemics between Boris Chicherin and Vladimir Solovyov are perhaps the most remarkable event in the intellectual history of Russian liberalism. These polemics elicited keen interest in the whole of society, not just among liberal circles. The arguments between the two thinkers occurred during the period when Russian liberalism was ascendant while at the same time transforming into social liberalism. The doctrinal basis of liberalism was stretched to the limit and began to lose its identity as ...

This article analyzes two responses by the Left to the turbulent events of 1968 in Europe and the failed attempt at revolution: the turn towards postmodern theory and the "minorities policy" is contrasted with the transition to urban guerilla warfare. The paper argues that the theoretical degradation of a considerable part of leftist thought after 1968 was a result of the transition to postmodernist attitudes. The article also analyzes the penetration of these trends into the concept of sociologist ...

Marlene Laruelle’s article in Russia in Global Affairs (Laruelle, 2020) addresses current political debate on Russia’s role in the world political system. However, it is of much greater interest not to argue whether modern Russia can be called “fascist” or if such a discussion can take place at all (in fact, it most certainly can, for it is already in progress: invectives of this sort are voiced both inside and outside Russia), but to talk about the theoretical—or pseudo-theoretical—basis of such debates.
