This paper reports the use of ZnO, processed by sol-gel, as an efficient electron-transport layer for inverted organic photovoltaic cells. The device with incorporated ZnO interlayer, annealed at 100 °C, between transparent electrode and blend film plays an effective role in enhancing photovoltaic properties: the short-circuit current density (Jsc) doubles while open-circuit voltage (Voc) and fill factor increase by 0.12 V and 10 %, respectively. Power conversion efficiency (PCE) of solar cell increases, ...

Background: Distal radius fractures account for most of the injuries presenting in trauma centers. Colle’s fractures are defined as fractures within 2.5 cm of the wrist with dorsal angulation of the distal fragment. The cornerstone of treatment remains immobilization of the wrist in a cast. The objective of the study was to determine the outcome of closed reduction and plaster cast immobilization of Colle’s fractures in adults using Radiological parameters. It was a descriptive case series study, ...

A new series of triazinoindole analogs 1–11 were synthesized, characterized by EI-MS and 1H NMR, evaluated for α-glucosidase inhibitory potential. All eleven (11) analogs showed different range of α-glucosidase inhibitory potential with IC50 value ranging between 2.46 ± 0.008 and 312.79 ± 0.06 μM when compared with the standard acarbose (IC50, 38.25 ± 0.12 μM). Among the series, compounds 1, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, and 11 showed excellent inhibitory potential with IC50 values 2.46 ± 0.008, 37.78 ± 0.05, 28.91 ± 0.0, 38. ...

Thyroid dysfunction in patients with Down's syndrome is well known. Although the majority of children with Down's syndrome appear to have normal thyroid function, however, hypothyroidism is commonly seen. The presence of hyperthyroidism is rare. The etiology is believed to be autoimmune. We report a patient with Down syndrome and Graves' disease who responded well to antithyroid drugs. The rarity of this association, especially in a child younger than eight years of age, has prompted us to report ...

A series of thiazole derivatives 1-21 were prepared, characterized by EI-MS and (1)H NMR and evaluated for α-glucosidase inhibitory potential. All twenty one derivatives showed good α-glucosidase inhibitory activity with IC50 value ranging between 18.23±0.03 and 424.41±0.94μM when compared with the standard acarbose (IC50, 38.25±0.12μM). Compound (8) (IC50, 18.23±0.03μM) and compound (7) (IC50=36.75±0.05μM) exhibited outstanding inhibitory potential much better than the standard acarbose (IC50, 38.25±0. ...

The provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has taken a number of steps in order to develop and establish the concept of E-governance in different departments of the province. There are, however, certain hurdles, such as missing the rudimentary ICT (information and communication technology) substructure and setups. To properly utilize the ICT for the sack of E-governance, it is important to know the use of the different types of technologies. Unfortunately, in Pakistan, IT literacy and knowledge ...

Pulmonary complications are the most common cause of death after surgery. This study aimed to derive and externally validate a novel prognostic model that can be used before elective surgery to estimate the risk of postoperative pulmonary complications and to support resource allocation and prioritisation during pandemic recovery. Data from an international, prospective cohort study were used to develop a novel prognostic risk model for pulmonary complications after elective surgery in adult patients ( ...
