地質調査総合センターでは現在,5万分の1地質図幅「鳥羽」の作成を行っている.その研究過程で,志摩半島に分布する秩父累帯北帯及び三波川帯の付加体の付加年代を決定することを目的に,砂岩及び砂質片岩中の砕屑性ジルコンのU–Pb年代を測定した. 秩父累帯北帯逢坂峠コンプレックスの砂岩中ジルコンの最若粒子集団は204.4±4.0 Ma(三畳紀末~ジュラ紀初頭)を示し,また同帯河内コンプレックスの砂岩中のジルコンの最若粒子集団は183.4±2.9 Ma(前期ジュラ紀中頃~前期ジュラ紀後半)を示すことが明らかになった.これらは放散虫化石から想定されている陸源性砕屑岩の時代(付加年代)と矛盾しない.また,三波川帯宮川層の砂質片岩中のジルコンの最若粒子集団は177.1±1.6 Ma と95.5±2.5 Ma(後期白亜紀前半)を示すことが判明した.後者は,伊勢地域(図幅西隣)から得られている99–83 MaのフェンジャイトK–Ar年代(変成・冷却年代)と調和的である.しかし,前者は後者よりも有意に古い年代を示す結果となった.前者の妥当性を検証するため,今後更なる砕屑性ジルコンU–Pb年代やフェンジャイトK– ...

志摩半島の黒瀬川帯に分布する珪長質凝灰岩および凝灰質泥岩からAlbaillella cavitata,A. protolevis,Follicucullus scholasticus,Triplanospongos musashiensisなどの後期ペルム紀(ウーチァーピンジアン期~チャンシンジアン期前半)放散虫化石を見出した.両岩石を含む地層は,分布幅が約30mで,非変形の整然相を示す.この地層はこれまで前期白亜紀前弧海盆堆積物からなる松尾層群の一部と考えられていたが,後期ペルム紀の整然層であることが判明した.志摩半島を含めた紀伊半島におけるペルム紀整然層の認定は初であり,その分布は九州から四国を経由して志摩半島まで延長することが明らかになった.志摩半島の後期ペルム紀整然層は,四国の土居層群,市ノ瀬層群の一部,九州の球磨層の一部,小崎層の一部と年代対比できる.

三重県志摩半島の秩父累帯南帯には,中期~後期ジュラ紀付加体からなる築地層群と中期ジュラ紀~前期白亜紀浅海層からなる今浦層群が分布する.5万分の1地質図幅「鳥羽」を作成する過程で,両層群の泥岩から中期及び後期ジュラ紀の放散虫化石を見出し,多くの化石種を基に,より精度の高い堆積年代を示すことができた.築地層群の泥岩はカロビアン期前半~中頃を,そして今浦層群の泥岩はバトニアン期中頃~カロビアン期後半,カロビアン期後半~オックスフォーディアン期中頃,チトニアン期前半という3つの時代を示すことが明らかになった.これらの時代はこれまで報告されていた年代データの範囲に収まる.

志摩半島の秩父累帯北帯の南東部に分布する白木層群の泥岩から放散虫化石を初めて見出した.Minutusolla cf. micheleiやStriatojaponocapsa synconexaなどの放散虫化石群集から,本層群の泥岩は中期ジュラ紀のバッジョシアン期~バトニアン期前半に堆積したことが判明した.本層群の南西延長部には,これまで黒瀬川帯の白滝層群が分布するとされていた.しかし,両層群の境界域を調査・研究した結果,岩相・地質構造・微化石年代の共通性が認められ,少なくとも本研究地域では白滝層群は北帯の白木層群に統合できる.それは,北帯と黒瀬川帯の境界が従来の見解よりも南に位置することを意味する.日本列島における秩父累帯北帯の基準ユニットである上吉田ユニット・住居附ユニット・遊子川ユニットの岩相と陸源性砕屑岩年代を整理・比較した結果,白木層群は上吉田ユニットに対比できる蓋然性が高い.

三重県志摩半島に分布する三波川帯の御荷鉾緑色岩類中にはアルカリ角閃石と推測される紫~青色角閃石が普遍的に産する.ドレライト質岩中の角閃石の化学組成をEPMAにて測定した結果,ナトリウム角閃石のマグネシオリーベック閃石とナトリウム・カルシウム角閃石のフェリウィンチ閃石であることが判明した.これらのアルカリ角閃石と緑泥石,緑れん石,アルバイト,アクチノ閃石,赤鉄鉱の共存から,本ドレライトはパンペリー石–アクチノ閃石相ないし緑色片岩相と青色片岩相の漸移相程度の変成を被っていると考えられる.

三重県志摩半島の黒瀬川帯では,蛇紋岩中にドレライトが岩塊として産する.このドレライトは,本地域黒瀬川帯を特徴付ける岩石(黒瀬川古期岩類)の一つとされてきたが,ドレライト自体はジュラ紀付加体中にも海洋地殻断片として産する例があることから,本ドレライトの起源を明らかにするため全岩化学分析を行った.その結果,島弧ソレアイトの特徴を示すことが判明した.他地域の黒瀬川帯岩石との比較からも,本ドレライトは,海洋地殻起源の付加体要素ではなく,スープラサブダクション域に起源を持つ黒瀬川古期岩類に対比できる.また,四国黒瀬川帯の三滝火成岩類の一要素に相当する可能性がある.
