Crossodactylodes is a poorly known genus of small-sized bromeligenous frogs, endemic to Brazil. This study analysed parasite contamination in green leaf lettuce (Lactuca sativa), grown in different cultivation systems (conventional, organic, and hydroponic), from a family farmer cooperative in the municipality of Presidente Prudente, São Paulo, Brazil. To support the global restart of elective surgery, data from an international prospective cohort study of 8492 patients (69 countries) was analysed using artificial intelligence (machine learning techniques) to develop a predictive score for mortality in surgical patients with SARS-CoV-2. evaluated the cases of diabetic nephropathy that had indication to perform biopsy, that is, those with more serious manifestations.This study is important because, though common, there is a long way to go through in understanding diabetic nephropathy.In our study only cases of isolated DN were analysed, and all the biopsies with DN and other superimposed NDRD were excluded, which is commonly a limiting factor when we try to understand this disease.

The authors describe the results on EGFR molecular alterations of 29 Brazilian patients with penile carcinoma (PC). DNA extracted from frozen tumor tissue of all patients was submitted to direct sequencing of the four exons (18 – 21) responsible for the EGFR tyrosine-kinase activity. Corroborating the data by Di Lorenzo et al. published in Expert Opin Ther Targets, none of the sequenced tumor samples showed relevant alterations in the four studied exons of the EGFR gene.
