In Google Books alone, you will find more than 100,000 citations, the bibliographic traces of the concept’s extended wandering.1 Switch to the search engine at OCLC WorldCat, ArticleFirst, or ECO, and the numbers become less daunting, somewhere on the order of a few hundred hits. In these more specialized databases, however, the searchable content is limited to titles and abstracts. ...

As genetic testing is now available outside of the traditional health care system, often without even the intermediate of a health care professional, we surveyed 37 DTC GT companies regarding their policies for testing ...

Based on semi-structured, in-depth interviews, this article examines the experiences of twenty adults with gay and lesbian parents. Faced with ruptures in significant childhood attachments and strains in parent–child bonds, respondents developed coping strategies to deal with the disruptions to their bonds with others and the demands of forced autonomy that are the result of the creation of new identities. How and when they were told of their parents’ sexual orientation proved to be the fulcrum ...

The bottle-throwing protestors at Stonewall, the Gay Activist Alliance members who disrupted meetings of the American Psychiatric Association, or the sexual outlaws of Christopher ...

This article examines one of the least explored aspects of assisted reproductive technologies (ART) – that is, the rights of ART-born children. Taking an international human rights law perspective, the article considers two arguable clashes of rights that have been raised with regard to ART-born children: the use of ART as child abuse and genetic selection of offspring. It further explores whether and how adding children's perspective to the discourse may enrich the debates and inform the legal policies ...
