We engineered a machine learning approach, MSHub, to enable auto-deconvolution of gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) data. We then designed workflows to enable the community to store, process, share, annotate, compare and perform molecular networking of GC-MS data within the Global Natural Product Social (GNPS) Molecular Networking analysis platform. MSHub/GNPS performs auto-deconvolution of compound fragmentation patterns via unsupervised non-negative matrix factorization and quantifies ...

A low-inductive half-bridge and gate driver package with on-package gate and dc-link capacitors is realized by printed circuit board (PCB) embedding of two GaN-on-Si ICs. While monolithic half-bridge and driver integration reduces on-chip parasitics, it does not solve the interconnection challenge to external capacitors. This letter solves this issue through advantageous combination of PCB embedding and monolithic circuit integration. This letter uses GaN-on-Si power circuits with integrated gate ...

Electromagnetic interferences (EMIs) with cardiovascular implantable electronic devices (CIEDs) are associated with potential risk for patients. Studies imply that CIED sensitivity setting and lead's tip-to-ring spacing determine the susceptibility of CIEDs with bipolar leads to electric and magnetic fields (EMFs); however, little is known about additional decisive parameters affecting EMI of CIEDs. We therefore investigated the influence of different patient-, device-, and lead-depending variables ...

Bridging P(^)N ligands bearing five-membered heterocyclic moieties such as tetrazoles, 1,2,4-triazoles, oxadiazoles, thiadiazoles, and oxazoles have been investigated regarding their complexation behavior with copper(I) iodide as metal salts. Different complex structures were found, depending either on the ligand itself or on the ligand-to-metal ratios used in the complexation reaction. Two different kinds of luminescent dinuclear complex structures and a kind of tetranuclear complex structure were ...

Perinatal exposure to alcohol (PEA) induces general developmental and specific neuropsychiatric disturbances accompanied by disturbed synaptic plasticity. Here we studied the long-term behavioral consequences of PEA and investigated glutamate transmission-related genes in a longitudinal fashion. After delivery, female Wistar rats and their pups were exposed to ethanol until postnatal day (PD)8 in vapor chambers. At the age of 5 months, the animals were behaviorally characterized. At both PD8 and after ...

Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) with extracorporeal circulation (ECC) is the gold standard for surgical coronary re-vascularisation. Recently, minimised extracorporeal circulation system (MECC) has been postulated a safe and advantageous alternative for multi-vessel CABG.Between January 2004 and December 2007, 244 high-risk patients (logistic EuroScore (ES)>10%) underwent CABG in our institution. ECC was used in 139 (57%) and MECC in 105 (43%) patients. Demographic data including age (MECC: 73.4+/- ...

Nucleotide incorporation and extension opposite N2-ethyl-Gua by DNA polymerase ι was measured and structures of the DNA polymerase ι-N2-ethyl-Gua complex with incoming nucleotides were solved. Efficiency and fidelity of DNA polymerase ι opposite N2-ethyl-Gua was determined by steady state kinetic analysis with Mg2+ or Mn2+ as the activating metal. DNA polymerase ι incorporates dCMP opposite N2-ethyl-Gua and unadducted Gua with similar efficiencies in the presence of Mg2+ and with greater efficiencies ...

The quantitative analysis of the chromosome territory morphology confirmed previous results obtained by visual observation [Zink et al., Hum. Genet. 102 (1998) 241–251] that chromosome territories persisted as stable entities over an observation time >4 h. The changes in morphology with time of single chromosome territories ...

Translation factor a/eIF5A is highly conserved in Eukarya and Archaea. The eukaryal eIF5A protein is required for transit of ribosomes across consecutive proline codons, whereas the function of the archaeal orthologue remains unknown. Here, we provide a first hint for an involvement of Sulfolobus solfataricus (Sso) aIF5A in translation. CRISPR-mediated knock down of the aif5A gene resulted in strong growth retardation, underlining a pivotal function. Moreover, in vitro studies revealed that Sso aIF5A ...

Abstract The nonlinear mechanical behavior of viscoelastic materials is modeled based on the Schapery integral model containing internal variables. In this context, a new approach for the strain‐dependent material properties is introduced considering a one‐dimensional formulation with strain‐dependent nonlinear functions for an oscillatory load case. In addition to the viscoelastic storage and loss modulus, the higher order harmonic oscillations in the stress response are computed and compared to ...

Nummular eczema (NE) is a common chronic inflammatory skin disease characterized by multiple, pruritic, discoid-shaped lesions. In this paper, we construct an O-display theory and prove that, under certain conditions on the base ring, the category of nilpotent O-displays and the category of π-divisible formal O-modules are equivalent. Starting with this result, we then construct a Dieudonné O-display theory and prove a similar equivalence between the category of Dieudonné O-displays and the category of π-divisible O-modules. We also show that this equivalence is compatible with duality. These results generalize the corresponding ...
