Autonomous low power electric power plants working with variable speed energy sources or electric subsystems of cogeneration plants of some type need to increase the low speed or the low voltage of the system. In this paper the investigations and the results of the experiments conducted using different structures are given.

µ-Conotoxin PIIIA, in the sub-picomolar, range inhibits the archetypal bacterial sodium channel NaChBac (NavBh) in a voltage- and use-dependent manner. Peptide µ-conotoxins were first recognized as potent components of the venoms of fish-hunting cone snails that selectively inhibit voltage-gated skeletal muscle sodium channels, thus preventing muscle contraction. Intriguingly, computer simulations predicted that PIIIA binds to prokaryotic channel NavAb with much higher affinity than to fish (and other ...

Abstract The article presents the calculation of the optimal diameter of the mesh channel of the air intake of the propulsion system of a small spacecraft, which operates on outboard air. Graphs of the dependence of the efficiency of the air intake on its diameter, the dependence of the mass flow rate of particles m on the diameter of the air intake are obtained. The analysis of the environmental friendliness of creating a propulsion system by the EIO method is carried out. The assessment of the ...

The article deals with investigation of electromechanical and energetic characteristics of traction electric drive with vector systems of direct torque control. As a controlled object the traction asynchronous motor ДТА-1У1, which is used to drive the trolley-bus is considered. At the present time the usage of traction asynchronous electric drives for town transport is relevant. Due to development of power electronic devices and microprocessor-based control systems it became possible to replace ...

There are carried out the works on modernization of the non-catalytic purification unit. The degree of flue gases purification achieved as a result is more than 90%, which enables to meet not only the current requirements on emissions of nitrogen oxides with flue gas from reforming furnaces, but also long-term standards.

ABSTRACTABSTRACTIn this work, solvent extraction of In(III) from sulfate solutions by using mixtures of D2EHPA with octyl alcohol and octanoic acid was investigated. The introduction of the additives into the organic phase was shown to lead to an antagonistic effect thus facilitating efficient indium stripping from the loaded organic phase. The antagonistic effect is significantly higher in the D2EHPA (HR) and octyl alcohol (HA) mixtures. The formation of stable associates between D2EHPA and HA leads ...

Mechanisms of sodium channel block by local anesthetics (LAs) are still a matter of intensive studies. In the absence of high-resolution structures of eukaryotic channels, atomic details of LA-channel interactions are analyzed using homology modeling. LAs are predicted to access the closed channel through a sidewalk (fenestration) between the channel repeats, bind in a horizontal orientation, and leave its aromatic moiety in the interface. Recent X-ray structure of a bacterial sodium channel NavMs ...

The purpose of the article is to analyse the manufacturing factors that affect the cost of manufacturing a part. Nowadays the cost of equipment used for metal 3D printing, as well as metal powders, are still very expensive. The cost of additive manufacturing of metal parts is mainly dependent on the volume of printing, therefore, reducing the volume of printing can lead to a significant reduction in the cost of manufacturing the part. Manufacturing of a metal shell, the cavity of which is filled ...

MGF is a product of a unique muscle-specific splice variant of IGF1 gene (insulin-like growth factor). Its peculiar feature is a specific E-peptide, a 16 a.a. strand at the C-terminus. MGF increases cellular proliferation and inhibits terminal differentiation of myoblasts necessary for the secondary myotube formation. Previous analysis of physiological effects of MGF was performed using indirect methods such as RT-PCR based examination of the transcript contents in normal tissues, adenovirus-mediated ...

Expression, genetic variation, and tissues Human genomes show extensive genetic variation across individuals, but we have only just started documenting the effects of this variation on the regulation of gene expression. Furthermore, only a few tissues have been examined per genetic variant. In order to examine how genetic expression varies among tissues within individuals, the Genotype-Tissue Expression (GTEx) Consortium collected 1641 postmortem samples covering 54 body sites from 175 individuals. ...

Proton-gated ion channels of ASIC family play important role in many physiological and pathological processes and represent a perspective target for pharmacological modulation. Recently, atomic-scale structures of ASICs in closed, open and desensitized states have become available. This opened a possibility to model binding of ligands, which modulate ASIC activation and desensitization and to predict structures of new specifically acting pharmacological agents. In the present work we performed in ...

In crystallographic structures of NavAb and other bacterial sodium channels the P-loop domain contains P2 helices, which are absent in potassium channels. Here we asked whether these structures can advance understanding of experimental data accumulated for eukaryotic sodium channels. Using published experimental data on interactions of mu-conotoxins with Nav1.X channels, we docked GIIIA, PIIIA and KIIIA in the NavAb-based model of Nav1.4. Docking of GIIIA was based on specific channel-toxin contacts ...

This report presents the capabilities of the CMS experiment to explore the rich heavy-ion physics programme offered by the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC). The collisions of lead nuclei at energies , will probe quark and gluon matter at unprecedented values of energy density. The prime goal of this research is to study the fundamental theory of the strong interaction — Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) — in extreme conditions of temperature, density and parton momentum fraction (low-x).
