A key management protocol has been described that will allow the Data Encryption Standard (DES) to be integrated into electronic data processing systems for the purpose of obtaining communication security and file security. Several cryptographic keys have been defined that allow the desired key management protocol to be achieved. They are: • Host master key (KMO) • First variant of the host master key (KM1) • Second variant of the host master key (KM2) • Terminal master key (KMT) • Secondary communication key ( ...

Prof. Martin Hellman presents no shortcut solutions to the Data Encryption Standard; the time-memory tradeoff is just one of many key-message exhaustion techniques. Therefore when he says, "DES is only marginally secure today and will be totally insecure within ten years," he is totally wrong.

Cancer cells possess traits reminiscent of those ascribed to normal stem cells. It is unclear whether these phenotypic similarities are the result of a common biological phenotype, such as regulatory pathways.Lung cancer cell lines with corresponding gene expression data and genes associated with an embryonic stem cell identity were used to develop a signature of embryonic stemness (ES) activity specific to lung adenocarcinoma. Biological characteristics were elucidated as a function of cancer biology/ ...

A method is described for measuring low-level time-truncated signals by using narrow-bandwidth synchronous time-notch filters. These filter systems, intended for use with ordinary narrowband receivers or field intensity meters, provide a means of isolating time-truncated signals of interest from adjacent interfering signals. In addition, the important property of near optimum sensitivity (approaching that of a matched filter) is discussed, and the laboratory results of a low-frequency time-notch ...
