機器中性子放射化分析(INAA)により大豆中のSeを定量した.国外産大豆18種,国内産大豆17種を用い,それぞれ3個の試料(重量1~2g)を分析した.INAAによる分析では三通りの方法を使用した.すなわち,通常よく用いられる75Seに注目する長時間照射測定法,75Seがカスケードにγ線を放出することを利用した長時間照射同時測定法,及び短寿命の77mSeに注目する短時間照射測定法である.このうち長時間照射同時測定法が最も感度がよく,35種類すべての大豆が分析できた.中国産の大豆中のSe含有量は5~30ppb程度で最も低かった.その他の国外産大豆は15~200ppb程度であり,国内産大豆はそれより低く,8~70ppb程度であった.

機器中性子放射化分析法 (INAA) により, 日本分析化学会が調製した河川水標準物質中の微量元素を定量した.河川水標準物質は道志川系の河川水を原料とした無添加試料 (JAC 0031) と, それにCrなど12元素を1～50μgl-1 添加した添加試料 (JAC 0032) の2本1組となっている.試料約450m1から回収率を向上させるために凍結乾燥を2回行って照射用試料を作製した.照射は立教大学原子炉で10秒間及び6時間行った.γ線測定は通常のγ線スペクトロメトリーと, 同軸型Ge検出器と井戸型NaI (T1) 検出器による反同時及び同時測定γ線スペクトロメトリーを行った.57元素の分析を試みて, 無添加試料で27元素, 添加試料で29元素が定量できた.認証値の示されている約10元素について, 認証値と誤差範囲内で一致した値が得られた.更に, 認証値, 参照値の求められていない15元素が定量できた.

高純度鉄中のNi及びCoを陰イオン交換クロマトグラフィー及び水酸化コバルト沈殿法を伴う放射化学中性子放射化分析法(RNAA)を用いて定量した。試料0.1gをTRIGA-II及びJMTRで6～12時間照射を行った。また,試料をCdはくで覆い,JMTRで30時間照射して熱外中性子及び高速中性子照射を行い,Niの定量下限値の向上について検討した。照射後の試料に放射化学的分離操作を行い,マトリックス元素であるFeから生成された59Fe,54Mn及び51Crを除去した後,Ni及びCoの分析目的核種である58Co及び60Coを回収し,γ線測定を行った。その結果,Niの含有量が微量なため,認証値が求められていない高純度鉄標準物質JSS001-4を分析でき,定量値0.093±0.009ppmを得た。定量下限値はNi及びCoについてそれぞれ0.01及び0.0001ppmであった。
