ResumoAlthough authorship has been attributed to Sir Walter Raleigh, attribution to Defoe is based on internal textual relationship to his works of proven authorship together with supporting external evidence (cf. Moore, J.R. Defoe (1971 ed.) p. 169-170) "The author of this anonymous pamphlet claims to be a descendant from Raleigh; and in it proposes a Guiana settlement to the South Sea Company, on a plan 'laid before K. William thirty years before. See Anderson's History of Commerce, III. 91."--Sabin Book.
