Lettered on back: Barnard's American journal of education. Vol. 1, no. 1-2, entitled "The American journal of education and college review," were edited by Henry Barnard and Absalom Peters and were published in New York by N.A. Calkins. Vols. 11-16 are called also "New ser., v. 1-6." Vols. 17-24 form the National series and include the circulars, reports and documents issued by the editor as commissioner of education (v. 18 is the American year-book and register for 1869; v. 19, Special report on education in the District of Columbia) Vol. 25 is the report of the commissioner of education for 1880; v. 29, report for 1877. Vols. 26-31 form the International series, v. 1-6. Vol. 26, no. 1 contains a classified index to v. 1-16 (also given in v. 17, p. [17]-40) a general index to v. 17-24, special volume indexes, etc. "American text books [a bibliography by H. Barnard]": v. 13-15. No more published. Accompanied by: ...
