D[avid] Barclay to Buxton, about the resolutions passed on November 26 by the Anti-Slavery Society being at variance with the resolution passed on August 14 and transmitted to him by Buxton for forwarding to Mauritius. He writes of aletter by George Stephen in , attacking Buxton, and his own wish that the Society would apply its energies to stopping the traffic in slaves rather than to harassing colonists who were trying to make Emancipation work.
