Robert Stokes to Andrew Johnston, enclosing a copy of a letter from George Stephen objecting to the transcription of his correspondence with Buxton in the minutes of the Anti-Slavery Society and demanding their immediate excision under threat of their being immediately published in full in the national press. Also Johnston's draft reply advocating that Stokes should tell Stephen that the matter would be referred to the next ordinary meeting of the Anti-Slavery committee.
