pp 49 a-d 1840 Nov 25. Priscilla Johnston to Buxton, about their mortification at the decision of the Mico Trustees, asking if it was final. She alludes to Sir George Stephen's book revealing the differences within the committee which they had all been at pains to conceal. She believes the book would not be taken seriously by anyone, though it was clever and entertaining. She and Andrew had been sounding out the dignitaries of Suffolk about holding a meeting. They were going to try to make the list Buxton had requested but she observes that she could spend three times the amount with less trouble. She offers support and sympathy to him on returning to the difficulties of his appointed task and recommends cultivation of resignation to the divine will.
