p 152 1841 Feb 9. Buxton to Joseph John Gurney, appealing for a subscription of two guineas to assist Buckingham, whom he describes as the best of Radicals, a good anti-slavery man who wrote about America and very hungry. He again refers to the contents of the sailor's letter. He tells him that he had followed his advice and that of many friends in staying at home but that they were lonely without the sound of the children. (Copy.)
