pp 199-201 1841 March 29. Catherine Buxton to [?Anna Gurney], about Buxton's visit to Captain Trotter to take leave of him and complete some other business in spite of his difficulty in breathing, the visit of Buxton and his family party to the 'Wilberforce', the service held in the hulk next to it at which Elizabeth Fry and Captain Bird Allen spoke, and Buxton gave the Expedition his blessing; Elizabeth Fry had then prayed and distributed her text-books among the men. She comments on the high standard among both men and officers and observes that they were a most unusual set of people, remarking that it had been worth the risk to Buxton's health because of the satisfaction he had gained from the visit.
