[?Mary Buxton] pp 357 a-d 1841 Dec 15. to Anna Gurney, about her visit to Edward's house to meet the party from Ham House. She describes the meeting at the house of Captain Trotter's brother about which she expected Edward and Catherine had already written, at which they had heard Trotter expected to be at the mouth of the river again on December 1, after which he would explore other channels of the delta. She reports that those who had been left at Ascension had recovered from the fever and those who had returned to England had been blamed for doing so and for leaving Lieutenant Fishbourne with not enough men to man the 'Soudan'. She asks whether she had heard that the King of Ashanti was intending to make a road for the Princes.
