pp 143-46 1812 Jan 19. Berwick. He warns her that he was likely to be detained by Brewery business for at least another week, and tells her how much he was missing his home and family and her. He describes the family with whom he was staying, the father being an agent of the Brewery. He regrets that he might bring ruin to that family by acting in the true interests of his partners, but adds that he hoped to avert some of the disaster, though he and the Brewery would, in any case, stand to lose a great deal.
