Memoir pp 173-74 [1836 Nov 9]. Spitalfields. He gives instructions for his black mare and pointer to be delivered to John Taylor's in Bishops Stortford. He is concerned at not hearing from her about Priscilla [their daughter]. He writes that he was pleased at Cooper's decision and that though he had expected to be in Norfolk he could not leave town at present because of the distressing local situation. He describes a visit made with Samuel Hoare that day to the poor of Spitalfields and their intention to hold a public meeting to raise funds to alleviate the distress. ( p 60.)
