Memoir pp 283-86 1821 Feb 5. London. He remarks on the grievous account of Priscilla received from her that day and explains, that, though his inclination was to return home immediately, meetings about the slave trade, a debate on it and another meeting about the children in Spitalfields prevented him from doing so unless the letter he expected from her the next day made it imperative for him to leave. She had told him that Priscilla had something important to say to him and he did not wish to lose that. He sends directions for his coachman to meet the mail on Thursday to take him home. He mentions that he had been at [John] Cunningham's home at Harrow and comments on [his wife's] deathbed scene.( p 106.)
