pp 449-52 1838 Feb 9. London. He reports on his own well-being, the successful completion of some worrying business concerning the Brewery and his mining interests, that the Mico Charity business was going well and that he had ceased to worry about the Anti-Slavery matter. He also writes that he had brought Lushington round to his way of thinking and that he was going to present the Ladies' Petition to the Queen at the Levee. Finally he states that they had had a most pleasant journey from Northrepps and that Tommy, his toothache ended, had behaved well. A note added by Edward Buxton reports that his father was well having passed a very good night. This letter is endorsed with pencilled notes by W. E.
