The Ukimido of Mangetsuji in Kashida, Otsu City. It Is Said to Have Been Built by the Priest Eshin during the Chotoku Years (995-99) to Pray for Safety on the Lake and the Welfare of the People. It Has Been the Theme of Haiku and Ukiyoe Prints from Ancient Days, Including a Famous Haiku by Matsuo Basho.
