Photograph of the tomb said to have been built by Ala-ud-Din Alam Shah, Tijara taken in the1880s by Henry Hardy Cole. It is part of the Archaeological Survey of India Collections (Indian Museum Series). Al-ud-Din Alam Shah was the governor of Tejara under Sikandar Lodi who was also his brother. The governor was still alive when the Humayun became emperor in 1508. The tomb is "now called Bhatari, because the land on which it stands formerly belonged to a Hindu of that name." The tomb is an octagonal shape and is three storeys in height. It is one of the largest Islamic tombs in northern India, being approximately 130 feet wide and 120 feet in height.
