A hand-coloured print of General Hospital, Calcutta, from the Fiebig Collection: Views of Calcutta and Surrounding Districts, taken by Frederick Fiebig in 1851. The New General Hospital was rebuilt and enlarged, in the 1820's, on the site of the Old General Hospital, on the southern edge of the Maidan, near the junction with the Circular Road, which surrounded the outer limits of the city.
