In the series 'Musical progress' (between 1865 and 1875). The opera was first performed in Paris on 26 March 1844. It was performed in rival English versions (as 'The Syren') in London, at the Princess's Theatre and Drury Lane Theatre, in October 1844. 'Le Duc d'Olonne'. [1860s?] Overture to 'Le Duc d'Olonne', comic opera, libretto by Eugène Scribe and Xavier Boniface Saintine. Orchestral parts. Name added to all parts, 'E Barrett'.
