Resumo
Photograph of Kohat, near Peshawar in Pakistan, from the Macnabb Collection, taken by William Henry Baker in 1865. Kohat was annexed by the British in 1849, with the rest of Punjab, and an Assistant Commissioner was posted here to run the administration. Kohat became the Army Divisional Headquarters and is still a military cantonment today. It was also the junction for the westward route into the hills towards Thal, the frontier garrison town, one of several built by the British in the area. Photographer: Baker, William Henry.
