This photograph of the tomb of Saadat Ali Khan from 'The Lucknow Album: containing a series of fifty photographic views of Lucknow,' was taken by Darogha Abbas Ali c.1874. Commissioned by Nawab Ghazi-ud-Din Haidar (r.1814-1827) this tomb was built for his father Nawab Saadat Ali Khan (r.1798-1814). Nawab Ghazi-ud-Din Haidar also built the tomb of Khursid Zadi, a wife of Nawab Saadat Ali Khan, which is almost identical in design. Photographer: Ali, Abbas.
