This photograph of the inside of Baille Guard from 'The Lucknow Album: containing a series of fifty photographic views of Lucknow,' was taken by Darogha Abbas Ali c.1874. The Baillie Guard gateway is the entrypoint to the Residency Complex. The Residency Complex, a national monument, "is one of the most hallowed sites in British India and the scene of the epic siege and relief in 1857." This photographs focuses on the area behind the entranceway and the Residency Grounds. The Baille Guard entranceway is visible in the right background.
