Platinum Print Photograph by Frederick Hollyer (1837-1933) of William Morris (1834-1896), British Poet, Artist, Designer, Businessman and Social Reformer. While at Oxford University He Met a Circle of Artists Which Later Became Known as the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. In 1861 Morris Founded William Morris & Co. Dante Gabriel Rossetti and Edward Burne-Jones as Partners. He Produced a Wide Range of Practical and Decorative Goods Such as Textiles, Wallpaper, Furniture, Stained Glass, and Ceramics. Emphasising Craftsmanship and the Natural Beauty of Materials in a Reaction against the Heavily Ornate and Mass-Produced Goods of the Victorian Era, Morris Founded the Arts and Crafts Movement.
