Resumo
Although the Photograph Is Entitled "Bizen" on the Lower Left, This Is Sugashima Lighthouse Located at the Northeastern Tip of Sugashima (Present-Day Toba City, Mie Prefecture) at the Entrance to Ise Bay. Designed by British Engineer R. H. Brunton and First Lit on July 1, 1873, the Lighthouse Is Still in Operation Today. The Attached Residence Was Relocated to Meiji Mura Museum and Designated an Important Cultural Asset by the Japanese Government. This Is an Early Photograph Taken before 1877.
