Resumo

Photograph of a landscape view south-west of Malot, in the Jhelum District of Pakistan, taken by Joseph David Beglar in the 1870s. Malot is situated around 114 miles south east of Taxila in the North West Frontier province of Pakistan. Rugged hills and high cliffs, the landscape shown in this photograph are typical of northern Pakistan. Malot is located in an excellent strategic position as the area is highly defensible. The fort is located at 3000 feet above sea level at the top of a very high cliff. Alexander Cunningham wrote in his report for the Archaeological Survey of India in 1872-3, "The only remains of any antiquity at Mallot are a temple and gateway in the Kashmirian style of architecture. Photographer: Beglar, Joseph David.
