The temple at Velapur is in the Hemadpanti style dating to c.1300 in the reign of Devagiri Yadava king Ramchandra (1271-1310). Numerous temples in the Hemadpanti style were built in Central India under the Yadava dynasty in the 12th century. A group of memorial stones were found scattered on the ground near the temple at Velapur. The carved panels on the stone in this view represent battle scenes, maidens attending a figure, and linga worship (top panel). 25.8 x 16.4 Centimetres. Photographer: Cousens, Henry.
