Bound copies of texts dealing with an encomienda belonging to Juan de Espinosa and concerning whether he participated in the Gonzalo Pizarro revolt. Featured throughout are the names of many people important in early Peruvian colonial history including: Gonzalo Pizarro, Governor Cristóbal Vaca de Castro, Viceroy Blasco Nuñez de Vela, Pedro de la Gasca, Alonso Alvarado, Lorenzo de Aldana, Francisco Carvajal, Francisco Pizzaro and Diego Almagro. The texts conclude with a lengthy series of interrogatories in which a number of witnesses for de Espinosa defend his loyalty to the Spanish crown. 1544-1558
