Resumo

This paper focuses the simplified modeling of industrial FCC converters, aiming the analysis of multivariable linear and non-linear control strategies. The developed model includes the main non-linearities of the cracking and regeneration sections in a lumped form to reduce the computation to reasonable levels. The model is compared, for several disturbances (feed flow rate, catalyst flow rate and regeneration air flow rate), to the real operation data collected from a Kellogg Orthoflow F converter The results are quite promising in terms of the model being used as a tool for the design of internal model strategies for the control of industrial scale FCC converters.
