ResumoThis paper publishes the reports of the excavations carried out at the house attributed to Cantaber, in Conimbriga (Portugal), between 1995 and 1998, directed by the author. It also publishes the reports of the excavations that the site museum had done in the 1980's.The evolution of the house is described as consisting of a main buil ding phase, probably of Flavian date, on a site where stood another building, the characteristics of which can not be determined. The house was later remodelled, first with the addition of private thermae and later as a consequence of the building of the town wall (end of III Conimbriga, 40 (2001) 83-140 -early IV c. AD).It would then have a long survival, of which there is little information, due to the method of the excavations that exposed the house in the 1930's.The architecture of the house in its first phase is described and ana lysed.
