Resumo

The present work presents the distribution of the seaweeds from Lagoa da Conceicao, a salt water lagoon located at the Island of Santa Catarina, Brazil. Sampling sites were chosen in accordance to the morphology of the lagoon, aspects of urbanization, and previous works. The specimens were collected at the end of each climatic season. Forty five infrageneric species were identified: Rhodophyta with 27 species, Chlorophyta with 12 species and six species of Phaeophyta. Erythrocladia irregularis is a new citation for the Brazilian coast. The largest species richness was observed at Canal da Barra, the place that conects the lagoon to the sea.
