ResumoChildren´s perceptions of the parental roles, and the relationship between these perceptions and children Adjustment, are studied through the administration of Parental Perception Inventory (PPI) and of the Auto-Assessive Multifactorial Infants Adjustment Test (TAMAI),- comparing data of 147 children from a sample of intact families, with those of 46 children from split families, assessed during the family trial course. The analysis is intended to test the hypothesis that the intact families´ children should perceive lower parental discrepancy than those of the split families,-It´s also hypothesized that, independently of sex, children in the split condition should perceive more positively the Custodial parent than the NON-Custodial one. Duration effect of parental separation on the children perception is also assessed, as well as the eventual existence of a negative correlation between infants Adjustment and the perceived Discrepancy in their parents´ educative style
