EnglishOur goal is to bring to the surface the other aspect of the paradises, revealing the other side of the supposed idleness magic world: the labor?s world. First off all we are dealing with the Angra dos Reis inhabitant life conditions ? an authentic tropical paradise near by Rio de Janeiro (Brasil) constituted by beachs, montains and 365 islands attended by brazilian and foreign tourists. We emphasize the consequences of the big economical projects and its effects in the territory social division; afterward we compose some reflections about work and leisure, considering the unemployment, the under-employment and the survival strategies those were expelled from the factory or those who never achieve to have their names in the interprise list. Possesing the tropical paradise as a source of inspiration, we register our uneasiness as for possibility in burst the labor and pleasure?s branch, indicating some trails to investigate the work?s meaning for the workes who promote the idleness. portuguesNosso objetivo e trazer a superficie a outra cara dos tropicais, revelando o outro lado do suposto mundo magico do ocio: o mundo do trabalho. Em primeiro lugar, tratamos das condiciones de vida dos habitantes cidade de Angra dos Reis ? um verdadeiro paraiso tropical que esta cerca do Rio de Janeiro (Brasil), formado por praias, montanhas e 365 ilhas que sao frequentadas por muitos turistas brasileiros e estrangeiros. Destacamos as consequencias dos grandes projetos economicos e suas repercussoes na divisao social do territorio; em seguida, tecemos algumas reflexoes sobre trabalho e ocio, considerando o desemprego, o sub-emprego e as estrategias de sobrevivencia daqueles que foram expulsos da fabrica ou que nunca conseguiram ter seus nomes expostos na quadro de funcionarios empresa tal. Tendo os paraisos tropicais como fonte de inspiracao, registramos nossas inquietacoes quanto a possibilidade de romper com a dicotomia trabalho e prazer, indicando algumas pistas para investigar o sentido do trabalho para os trabalhadores-promotores-de-ocio.
