Resumo

The orientation of the reoperative surgical incision must be carefully planned to avoid postoperative complications. Nevertheless, the surgeon must accept the fact that reoperative wounds have an increased risk of morbidity that requires recognition and appropriate management. The authors focus on the management of infectious and necrotizing complications of the abdominal wall in reoperations.
