Ozet: Bu cal›flma ile beyaz kas hastal›k (WMD)'l› kuzularda eritrosit glutasyon peroksidaz enzim aktivitesinin (GSH-Px) diagnostik onemi ve salam kuzularla WMD'li kuzular›n baz› serum parametrelerinde (glukoz, kreatinin, total protein, albumin, kolesterol, trigliserid, Ca, inorganik P, Na, K, Cl, AST, ALT, ALP, LDH, CPK) gozlenen deiflimlerin saptanmas› amacland›. Araflt›rma Esenyurt-‹stanbul cevresinde beslenen 280 adet kuzu icinden klinik semptom gosteren 22 adet ve salam 10 adet olmak uzere toplam 32 adet kuzu uzerinde yurutuldu. Her hayvandan yaklafl›k 7 cc antikoagulantl› kan al›n›p RANSEL glutasyon peroxidase kiti kullan›larak eritrosit glutasyon peroksidaz aktivitesi (GSH-Px) saptand›. Kan serum parametreleri ise Technicon SMA-otoanalizer kullan›larak olculdu. Klinikman hastalar›n ayaa kalkmad›klar›, yururken tokezledikleri ve titredikleri saptand›. Ozellikle GSH-Px enzim aktivitesinin dufltu¤u (p<0,01); serum CPK, AST, ALT, ALP, LDH enzim duzeylerinin artt›¤› (p<0,01) saptand›. Tedavide iki hafta arayla iki sefer tek doz halinde 50 cc'lik flakonlarda icinde 30 mg sodyum selenit ve 1500 mg E vitamini bulunduran Selephos'dan 10 kg canl› a¤›rl›¤a 1 ml kullan›lmas›yla kuzular›n ayaa kalkt›klar› gozlendi. Sonuc olarak, beyaz kas hastal›¤›n›n teflhisinde glutasyon peroksidaz enzim aktivitesi (GSH-Px) olcumunun uygulanabilir bir test olduu ve beyaz kas hastal›kl› kuzularda CPK, AST, ALT, LDH, ALP serum enzimlerinin olculmesinin onemli olduu saptand›. Abstract: The aim of this study was to determine the diagnostic importance of erythrocyte glutathione peroxidase activity (GSH- Px) in lambs with white muscle disease (WMD) and the changes in some serum parameters (glucose, creatinine, total protein, albumin, cholesterol, triglyceride, Ca, inorganic P, Na, K, Cl, AST, ALT, ALP, LDH and CPK) in healthy and white muscle diseased lambs. The research was carried out on 32 lambs of which 22 showed clinical symptoms and 10 were healthy from 280 lambs raised around Esenyurt-‹stanbul. The erythrocyte glutathione peroxidase activity (GSH-Px) was determined using the RANSEL glutathione peroxidase test by taking approximately 7 cc of anticoagulated blood from every lamb. Blood serum parameters were measured using a Technicon SMA-autoanalyzer. Clinically, it was determined that the patients could not stand up, and stumbled and trembled. It was determined that GSH-Px enzyme activity decreased (p < 0.01); and serum CPK, AST, ALT, ALP, LDH enzyme levels increased (p < 0.01). It was observed that lambs stood up after treatment with Selephos‚, which contains 30 mg sodium selenite + 1500 mg vitamin E, in 50 ml flacons with 1 ml/10 kg twice with two week intervals, in one dosage.
