Lo fantástico desde el humor intencionado en la realidad circundante de Julio Garmendia

El articulo busca hacer un acercamiento a la obra de Julio Garmendia a traves de uno de sus relatos «La realidad Circundante». Para empezar, se hace una aproximacion al concepto que de fantastico han dado algunos criticos literarios como Tzvetan Todorov e Iraset Paez Urdaneta. Asi mismo, se propondran algunas definiciones del concepto, en el que se he decidido fijar el presente acercamiento literario al reconocerlo como una constante que percibi en la configuracion de la mayoria de sus cuentos, el humor intencionado. En general, luego del estudio de algunos de sus cuentos, el humor en Garmendia se reconoce como el resultado de un proceso intencional: inducir al lector a la reflexion sobre la condicion humana, el pequeno suceder mundano, es decir, sobre la realidad circundante, y lo hace de una manera magistral: logrando que el lector se ria de si mismo, de su condicion de marioneta social. Abstract: This article seeks to examine the work of Julio Garmendia, through one of his short stories «The Surrounding Reality» [La realidad circundante]. To begin with, we will analyze the concept of the fantastic, portrayed by theorists such as Tzvetan Todorov and Iraset Paez Urdaneta. In the same way, we will propose a series of definitions of the concept of intended humor, which is a constant in Garmendia´s stories, on which this literary study is based. After studying of some of his short stories, we can say that, in general, humor in Garmendia can be identified as the result of an intentional process: prompting the reader to a reflection on the human condition, based on apparently insignificant day-to-day events, that is, the surrounding reality, and he does this in a superb manner: making the reader laugh at himself, in his condition as social puppet.
