Resumo

The objective of this study to verify the effect of fumaric acid (FA) in the diets on the performance of broiler chickens, five hundred and fifty, male, Cobb with 28 days old were distributed in five treatments and five repetitions of 22 broilers each. The reference diet was supplemented with three levels of FA (0.3%, 0.4% e 0.5%) compared to low and high energy level diets without FA. According to the results, the feed conversion (FC) was affected by FA in the diets. The high energy level diet promoted the best FC (2.19), and the 0.5% of FA in the diet promoted the worst FC (2.32). The treatments with low energy level and 0.3 and 0.4% inclusion FA in the diet promoted similar FC (2.27). In conclusion, the addition of FA in 28 at 49 days old broiler chickens diets did not improve the performance of broilers.
